Spontaneous Modifications allow the Spellcaster to change the properties of a spell by increasing or decreasing the Difficulty of a Spell. Moving properties to the right increases Difficulty moving them to the left decreases Difficulty. A Spellcaster can only spend a number of points up to his Spontaneous Modification Maximum in this way. Increasing Difficulty by a value of X and then decreasing by X counts as spending 2X points.
